Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Houd is developed and published by Mondrus CCS Inc ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Houd mobile application (the "App") on Android or any other platform where the App is made available.

2. What Houd Does

Houd is a local media synchronization tool. It reads photos and videos stored on your device and transfers them to network storage devices (NAS, home servers, computers) that you configure — using protocols such as SMB. Your media files never pass through our servers.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your photos or videos.
• File names, paths, or metadata of your media files.
• Server credentials (IP addresses, usernames, passwords) you enter in the App — these are stored exclusively on your device in an encrypted local database.
• Your name, email address, or any account information (the App does not require account registration).

3.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All configuration data — sync settings, server connection details, sync history logs, and Wi-Fi network preferences — is stored locally on your device using an encrypted Room (SQLite) database. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use Android's backup mechanisms.

3.3 Firebase Analytics & Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google LLC) to understand how the App is used and to diagnose issues:

• Firebase Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated usage events such as which screens are visited and which features are used most frequently.
• Firebase Crashlytics collects stack traces and device state information at the time of a crash. No media content, server credentials, or file paths are included in crash reports.
• Firebase may collect device identifiers, approximate location (country/region), device model, OS version, and app performance data.
• We do not send your media files, server credentials, or local file paths to Firebase.
• You can opt out of analytics data collection in the App Settings screen.
• Firebase data processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

3.4 Advertising Data (AdMob & Other Networks)

The App may display advertisements served by Google AdMob and other third-party advertising networks. These ad networks may collect and use information to serve you personalized or contextual ads, including:

• Advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID / GAID).
• Device information (model, OS version, language, screen resolution).
• General location information (country or region, derived from IP address).
• In-app interaction data (ad views, clicks).
• IP address and network information.

You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization.
• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track".

Google AdMob data processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Other advertising partners have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

3.5 In-App Purchases

If you make a purchase through the App (subscriptions or one-time purchases), the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS). We receive only a purchase confirmation (e.g., subscription status). Your payment information is handled solely by Google or Apple respectively and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy or Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Permissions Explained

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE	To scan and read photos and videos from your device for synchronization. Files are sent only to the server you configure.
INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE	To connect to your local network storage, to show ads, and to send analytics/crash data to Firebase.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION	Required by Android to read the Wi-Fi network name (SSID). Houd uses this only to identify your home network so it can start sync automatically. Your precise location is never recorded or transmitted.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC / WAKE_LOCK	To keep the sync process running reliably in the background without being killed by the system.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM / RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED	To schedule and reliably execute sync tasks at times you specify, including after device restarts.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	To show you sync progress and completion notifications.
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS	To prevent Android from stopping background sync tasks on battery-optimized devices.

5. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and maintain the core synchronization functionality of the App.
• Understand which features are most useful and improve user experience.
• Diagnose and fix crashes and performance issues via Firebase Crashlytics.
• Make informed decisions about future feature development using Firebase Analytics.
• Serve advertisements through AdMob and other ad networks to support free access to the App.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes beyond what is described in this policy.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Google (Firebase / AdMob / Google Play) and Apple (App Store / In-App Purchase): Analytics, crash reporting, advertising, and in-app billing as described in Section 3.
• Other advertising networks: Ad partners may receive device and interaction data as described in Section 3.4.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to the same protections described in this policy.

7. Data Security

Your sync configuration data (including server credentials) is stored in an encrypted local database on your device. We apply industry-standard security practices within our systems. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Houd is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising shown in the App will be configured to comply with applicable children's advertising restrictions. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contact@garny.io so we can delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request information about what data we hold about you.
• Deletion: Request deletion of any personal data we may hold.
• Opt-out of analytics: Disable analytics collection via App Settings.
• Opt-out of personalized ads: Use your device's advertising settings (see Section 3.4).
• Data portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not sell personal information for monetary value. However, sharing data with advertising partners may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" under California law. California residents have the right to opt out of such sharing by using the advertising opt-out described in Section 3.4, or by contacting us at contact@garny.io.

European / UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your data are:

• Legitimate interest – for Firebase Analytics used to improve the App.
• Consent – for personalized advertising (where required by law). You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Contract performance – for processing purchases and delivering app functionality.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Data Retention

All data stored by the App (configurations, sync history) resides on your device. Uninstalling the App removes this data. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data is retained for up to 14 months per Google's standard retention policy. Ad network data is subject to each network's own retention policies.

11. International Data Transfers

Data processed by Firebase and advertising networks (Google AdMob and others) may be transferred to and stored in the United States and other countries where Google and its partners operate. These transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and other approved mechanisms to comply with applicable data protection laws.

12. Links to Third-Party Services

The App may display links to external websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App or other reasonable means. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
